![]() ![]() The opening and ending themes were changed from songs by various popular recording artists to an instrumental song done with a synthesizer.Ī separate "uncut" DVD release was commissioned between 4Kids Entertainment and FUNimation Entertainment, featuring a new adaptation that is more consistent with the original. The Japanese sound effects were replaced with American sound effects, and the background music was changed to melodramatic synth music. CRUNCHYROLL YU GI OH SEASON 5 SERIESThese include different names for many characters and monsters, changes to the appearance of the cards to differentiate them from their real-life counterparts and various cuts and edits pertaining to violence, death and religious references to make the series suitable for children. The adaptation received many changes from the Japanese version to tailor it for international audiences. In 2001, 4Kids Entertainment obtained the merchandising and television rights to the series from Konami, producing an English language version which aired in North America on Kids' WB! between Septemand June 10, 2006, also releasing in various countries outside of Japan. An interview with Brian Zimmerman mentions that they were only contracted to do three seasons of the series, meaning it was possibly 144 episodes. ![]() It's not known exactly how many episodes were dubbed, though it is known to go as high as 80 episodes. The dub featured an extremely limited cast of only six known voice actors. Recorded at Voiceovers Unlimited and Yuan Production Holdings in Singapore, this dub was produced for Odex Productions. All in all, despite a few flaws (such as what my recollection says is a plot error in one of Revolver's duels), it was cool to watch a continuation of one of the first anime series I watched (Yugioh) combined with an exploration of technological concepts that will become more present in advanced societies. An English dub of the series was originally dubbed in Singapore for the South East Asian market. Additionally, when this anime was airing, I didn't look forward to many things in life, but I definitely did look forward to when Yugioh VRAINS came out on Wednesdays. ![]() Another character with good development is Revolver - at various points in the anime he is both a good and bad character, a duality that was fun to watch unfold. As people will implant computers in themselves and combine with machines more, that's also a window into the next decades. One character fuses with AI and becomes a dueling freak at the cost of some of his sanity. The character development of some of VRAINS's characters is also notable. ![]() It is in a sense a view into our potential future - people being infected with computer viruses, virtual reality becoming a state of life inhibited by people for many hours a day, and AI that's potentially superior to humans running around uncontrolled. CRUNCHYROLL YU GI OH SEASON 5 FREE(I don't like Yugioh seasons 4, 5, and 7, so I am selective in which ones I view as well made.) The dueling is consistent to the old style while being new, and the exploration of concepts such as artificial intelligence (AI) with free will and the nature of technology in society makes it interesting to watch. Either you like Yugioh or you don't, but VRAINS is easily one of the best seasons of Yugioh. ![]()
